Adolescent Treatment

The best time to start the orthodontic treatment process is as a teenager. By this time, baby teeth have all fallen out and the permanent ones have grown in making it the best time to fix improper alignment, poor tooth spacing or uneven bites your child or teen might. Here at Truman Orthodontics, we proudly provide kids and teens in and around Las Vegas and Henderson with quality orthodontic care to overcome common orthodontic problems. Dr. Mark and Dr. Zach Truman and their skilled team believe that the adolescent period is a great time to treat orthodontic problems because the body is still growing. The best part of getting braces as a teen is that they are not alone and the transition won’t be overwhelming. Many teenagers today are getting braces, so it is not unlikely that someone else in your class has braces too.

The Orthodontic Treatment Process At Truman Orthodontics

The orthodontic process is not only different for each specific treatment but also for each patient. The first time you and your child come in, we will take a few pictures and X-rays of their teeth and gums. To determine a more accurate treatment process, we may also make a model of their bite. Dr. Truman will then go over the data collected, establish the best solutions for your child’s orthodontic problem and will work with you to find the best treatment plan for him or her.

Orthodontic Treatment Options For Teens

Truman Orthodontics offers a number of treatment options for our teen patients, including:

Metal Braces are light-weight brackets that can be customized with color rubber

Clear Braces feature brackets made of ceramic or composite materials that blend in with the color of your teeth making them harder to notice

Invisalign Teen Clear Aligners is a series of practically invisible trays that gradually move to straighten teeth

How Long Will A Teen Undergo Orthodontic Treatment?

Unfortunately, because treatment differs from one individual to the next, there is no set answer we can give you without a consultation.  An active treatment will generally last up to 30 months followed by wearing a retainer for another set of months. Once your teen starts treatment, you will see that new smile we’ve been creating together in no time at all.

We are delighted to answer any questions you may have before, during, or after your visit with us.
